Following huge success in the West End, this production began performances on Broadway on 14th September with an official opening night on 2nd October 2022.
"A heart-rending epic from a master playwright."
The New York Times (Critic's Pick)
Set in Vienna, the play takes its title from the Jewish quarter. This passionate drama of love and endurance begins in the last days of 1899 and follows one extended family deep into the heart of the 20th century. Full of his customary wit and beauty, Stoppard’s late work spans fifty years of time over two hours.
"It is virtually inconceivable that this theater season will produce anything superior to Tom Stoppard’s ‘Leopoldstadt.’ This inexpressibly moving play ranks among Mr. Stoppard’s greatest works."
Wall Street Journal
Universally acclaimed in London as Stoppard’s “masterpiece” (The Independent) and “a momentous new play” (The Financial Times), Leopoldstadt will open on Broadway from 14th September this year. Opening night is scheduled to be 2nd October.
A cast of 38 is set to depict the passionate drama of love, family and endurance.
Stoppard's Leopoldstadt will once again be directed by Patrick Marber, who directed the original London run.
